Here's what the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center had to say: "Viewers became participants when Sarah Whalen confronted the secrecy and shame that enshrouds domestic violence by inviting passersby to write their own personal stories on her box"

This is a 5 ft x 5 ft wood block print on birch ply that was hand chiseled over the summer of 2014 for a recent collaborative showing called “Rolled and Reliefed”. It was a steamroller event featuring 7 Alaskan artists and only 4 prints were pressed from this wood block. The intricate details carved into the wood showing the trials and tribulations of the artist's own life, make it one of her most meaningful pieces. The Prints of this piece have ended up in various locations from private homes to The Bureau Of Indian Affairs in Anchorage Alaska. Currently 1 original 5ft x 5ft pulled print left with options of smaller limited repruduction prints available.

Actual Carving sold at the SmokeHouse Gala to benefit the First Alaskans Institute and was the 2nd highest grossing piece for this wonderful benefit.
